What are People’s Favorite Holidays in the United States?

Lacey Talaska, Reporter

What is the most favorite holiday in the United States currently? Is it Christmas, Halloween, maybe Easter? Let’s find out!

I asked students around the school what their favorite holidays are and why. Here are some of their answers: 10 students said Christmas, 3 Halloween, and 2 Thanksgiving. Some reasons for favoring Christmas are that there’s snow, delicious food, presents, the Christmas spirit, and decorations. Some reasons for favoring Halloween are the decorations, going trick-or-treating, and dressing up, and for Thanksgiving, both students said they liked it the best for the food and football.

As you can see, Christmas is the  favorite holiday in our school, but is it the most favorite in the United States? Studies show that 46 percent of the U.S. likes Christmas the best. Thanksgiving holds second place and  Halloween takes third.

So, Christmas is the favorite for the majority of the United States for its cheerful presence and fun Christmas music. People favor Thanksgiving for good food and football. Lastly, many people favor Halloween for spooky costumes and haunted houses. What’s your favorite holiday?
