Analysis of vitamin D level among asymptomatic and critically ill COVID-19 patients

Mia Couture, Reporter

Vitamin D plays a key role in many functions of our body, and a majority of people are deficient in and do not realize it. This vitamin plays an essential role in bone health along with several other issues. Some are exhaustion/fatigue, prone to illnesses, depression, high blood pressure, muscle pain/weakness, anxiety and more.

In the past months of studies, many have shown that a sufficient Vitamin D level is important for illness prevention, including COVID. Several studies have indicated that people testing positive for COVID-19 have Vitamin D levels under 70ng/ml. Another study showed 80% of Covid positive patients progressed into more severe cases with less than 70ng/ml.

Let’s all make a difference in our health! Next time you go to your doctor, ASK for your Vitamin D levels to be checked with a blood draw. When your results come in, ASK for your number. Research how to raise your Vitamin D levels if necessary, and let’s see how much healthier America can be by doing this!
