London Returns To Strict Lockdown

Kyra Lucas, Reporter

The number of Covid cases in the UK has increased rapidly after a new variant of Corona was identified, mainly in the southeast of England. More than 1,000 new cases with this variant have been identified. The new variant may be linked to why the virus is spreading faster. London will be moved from Tier 2 up to Tier 3 on Dec. 16.  Tier 2 means  “high alert” and Tier 3 means  “very high,” so, restrictions will be under the highest level again. All restaurants, pubs, and cafes will be closed for dining, with only take out and delivery available. Residents can’t meet up with people from other households unless they are six  feet apart at an outside park, sports facility, or public garden. The government and the UK health secretary also suggest to limit traveling as much as possible.
