On Wednesday, Trump supporters began protesting and storming the Capitol. As of currently, four people have died. One woman identified as Ashli Babbitt, a 35-year-old woman from Maryland, was shot by the U.S. Capitol Police while she was a part of a mob. She was trying to reach the House of Chambers, where members of Congress were being sheltered. Babbitt received medical assistance instantly, but was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The other three people died from their own medical emergencies. Police Chief Robert Contlee said, “One adult female and two adult males appear to have suffered from separate medical emergencies, which resulted in their deaths.”. There have been many more injured, including at least 14 Metropolitan Police Officers; some have been hospitalized with serious injuries after an officer was pulled into a mob and assaulted, one was pepper sprayed, and another officer was beaten by a projectile. Despite the police officer injuries, officers still have made over 100 arrests.
