Covid-19 Quarantines Staff and Students at Alpena High School

On Oct. 16, the District 4 Health Department informed APS that one high school student tested positive for Covid-19. That student had not been in school since Oct. 8, and since then, students and family members who have come in contact with the positive case are now in a targeted quarantine. Late Friday evening, health officials informed the district that another Alpena High School student has been identified as a “probable case.”

Individuals who need to be isolated or quarantined are being contacted by the health department, and the school launched its Response Plan in reply to the warnings. Alpena High School is now moving to 100% remote construction until Nov. 2 due to staffing issues since so many teachers are needed to quarantine.
