The Big Ten

For those who don’t know what The Big Ten is, it is the oldest Division I collegiate athletic conference in the United States. It is based in Rosemont, Illinois. For over eight decades this conference consisted of ten universities, and presently has 14 member and two affiliate institutions. The conference consists of multiple universities and colleges such as Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Rutgers,  Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, and Wisconsin. These teams compete against each other and rank from highest to lowest -or not even rank as a good enough qualifying team. This year is different for all sports players, especially football players. Football is such a contact sport and is difficult to continue while social distancing and having mandatory masks. The Big Ten Conference adopted stringent medical protocols regarding Covid 19 and allowed the football season to Resume October 23-24, 2020 after previously cancelling it. As being a town in Michigan, one of the most important rivalries in sports for us is Michigan vs. Michigan State. The two teams competed Oct 31. They fought neck and neck throughout the game. Sadly for Michigan fans, Spartans claimed the victory, winning 27-24.
