Trumps budget harms Michigan schools

Michigan schools could see a cut of almost $120 million dollars. Trumps budget cuts could take effect, and if they do Michigan schools and other programs will be hurt.

The huge $120 million dollar cut would cut into teachers training programs and afterschool programs for low income students. School officials said that the cuts would have a huge impact on not only the schools, but the students as well. Trump’s proposed budget cut would take away almost $9 billion dollars, which is a 13 percent cut to the schools.

The two big programs it would cut are supporting effective instruction state grants, which provides the money for teaching programs and training. The other program being the 21st century community learning centers programs. Trump’s proposed budget cut is a ways away from being approved, it still has to go through Congress.
